Father Refuses To Give Rs 10 For ‘Guthka’, Son Beheads Him

After killing his 70-year-old father, the accused carried the severed head to the police station and surrendered himself, a senior officer told PTI. The deceased was identified as Baidhar Singh.

He said, “The man beheaded his 70-year-old father with a sharp weapon and surrendered at Chandua Police Station along with the severed head. His mother fled the spot. The murder took place following a heated exchange of words between the accused and his parents.”

“The murder occurred over a petty issue. The accused became angry when his father refused to pay Rs 10 for ‘gutkha,’ a tobacco product,” Baripada SDPO Pravat Mallick said.

Following the accused’s surrender, the cops visited the village along with the forensic team. Further investigation is underway.
