Hello,
Please could I have a private post.
My stepbrother is getting married and I have been in his life since he was 4 years old (he is now 26). He has said he doesn’t want my children at his wedding as it is a no children wedding. I am struggling to accept this as I would appreciate if I was a friend however they are his neice and nephew and he treats them that way, we are a close knit family. I’m devastated at the thought of family photos and them not being included. I am unsure whether to go to the wedding or not.

This is your brothers wedding & if he &’his wife to be don’t want children there that’s their right.
It’s completely up to you if you want to go but if it worth possibly falling out with your brother over?
Sorry it’s his and her wedding at the end of the day. Doesn’t mean he loves them any less they have said it to everyone. Budget aswell side of things also they might not like alcohol being around children x
It’s his wedding so his choice you either accept it or you don’t go… Simple
My brother did this years ago totally respect it was what they wanted , my eldest son was a page boy my husband and I and other 2 kids didn’t go
His wedding his day ended of story he made his choice you can now make yours
His wedding. He doesn’t want kids. Lol 🤷🏻♀️
It’s his wedding – regardless of them being his Leicester and nephews the wedding is chikd free – I take that means there are no small bridesmaids/pageboys either.
Go to the wedding – enjoy some chikd free time and enjoy being YOU instead of MUM.
I can totally understand why people don’t want children there – shouting or crying during the service, running around at the reception, paying for food for them not to eat it – they could be on a tight budget and need to keep certain costs down
It’s his wedding and I can understand your sentiments with photos etc but as their big day you have to respect their wishes. Not going to his wedding is a bit over the top and its not about your children. I would go and enjoy the day child free and ask if you guys can have a family photo shoot after, host a dinner, hire a photographer. Make a day of it.
It’s his wedding . His choice . Doesn’t mean he doesn’t t love your children . I had a child free wedding too apart from my little bridesmaids and some folk didn’t come . That’s their choice , we made ours . Treat it like a mini break away from kids . Could be fun snd more relaxing . He’s not trying to offend . Just choosing the way he wants his wedding to be
Get a grip 🤣 its not your day nor is it your children’s. They said no kids and they meant no kids and if you don’t like it don’t go it’s that simple.
