After some advice on how to deal with all the school dramas, friendships falling out as well as the endless homework & reading – primary aged child.
I’m feeling really overwhelmed right now, in particular as DC1 needs constant help with spellings and reading and homework in general (Year 4). They don’t find reading / spellings the easiest so every night feels like a constant battle.
Advice / needed please 😫

Get them checked out of dyslexia
We have 4 children, our eldest is 16 then 12,10 & 9 year olds. The 2 youngest ones come home with spellings & timetables every Friday and a reading book every night, we have noticed this year the spellings have definitely ramped up a gear and are quite difficult for a 9&10 year old to figure out and it’s taking us nearly a full week to get them all correct, I agree with you it’s a battle for the youngest as she is partially deaf also so gets very frustrated as she doesn’t hear the sounds clearly. Luckily she is a very determined little girl who always wants to do her best but it does come with a couple of tears each week which isn’t great, and it’s left to me to teach them as dad is dyslexic so can’t read them either 🙈
