Hi can I have a private post please

I have a 2 year old son.
I didn’t know I was pregnant until I was 6 months.
His dad told me to get rid and had a break down and got very aggressive.
I have gave him chance after chance because I do not want my son missing out on his dad but… his dad has just come off a week binge up and tells me he has no social life…. as I dropped my son to him the day after he returned from holiday with the lads… I got home he range me getting loud and aggressive on the phone and I said I’m picking him up.
He said fine. Didn’t even say nah I want him to stay.. barring in mind he sees him weekend every 2 weeks and hadn’t seen him for 3 weeks
I feel like he is unstable and to aggressive and has bad anger issues.
Will I be wrong to keep my son away from him when I can’t trust his dad to be around him and the fact he uses drugs on a regular when he’s out and had done balloons when he had him before and snap chatted him doing a balloon whilst holding him. He is on the birth certificate but I don not want him anywhere near him x

  1. Sounds like his dad simply don’t care just like him telling you ti get rid, he don’t love the child, let him have his single social life be no skin of your nose or your sons, I’d rather cut contact this age than older it’s not fair for him to be like that and your son will constantly see it, so your not wrong in wanting to keep your son safe and away from someone thats clearly going through something right now.

  2. Child protection issues right there. I would report him. I agree with you. I wouldn’t want someone aggressive, unstable, doing drugs or binge drinking around my baby, Dad or not. If he wants to be in his son’s life he will need to clean up his act. Child protection services can make this clear to him.

  3. I don’t me to sound mean but as a mother it’s your job to protect your son. After the balloon incident contact should have stopped immediately.
You can’t force someone to be a parent and a none present parent is better than a 💩 one.

  4. You have parental responsibility. Part of that responsibility is to keep your son safe.

It sounds like your son is not safe to be around his dad at all so to protect him you need to stop contact at least unsupervised. I would advise that he is never left alone with his dad at least not whilst he is taking drugs and being aggressive.

    Stop contact.

Your top priority is keeping your son safe. He will have other male role models in his life. Positive ones.

It’s more important for your child to be safe than to see his dad.

He didn’t want a child, he told you to get rid of it at that point he lost his rights as a father at that point.

Protect your son please. (Theres more than just physical harm the mental and emotional harm he is doing to your son is just as bad)

  5. I think you already know the answer.
There is no way I’d let my kids be around that, even with dad’s name on the birth certificate. You need to do what’s best for your son and that’s keeping him out of danger. If dad wants contact then arrange it to be supervised in a contact centre.
